Tablet PCs and Wireless at Cuyahoga County; December eBookworm program

Congratulations to the Cuyahoga County Public Library in Ohio! Check out their web page for their announcement about wireless tablets customers can come in and use at a workstation or even take around the library with wireless Internet access. They even have Quick Time and Windows Media demonstrations to watch. Wow, this is wonderful!

December's eBookworm show will be on Thursday, December 18 from 3:00-4:00 P.M. Central time. Tom Peters of TAP Information Services will host the show and interview e-book experts Bill Harroff from McKendree College and Charlotte Johnson from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Both have given numerous presentations on e-books. To participate, go to http://www.talkingcommunities.com/entrance.pl?31122688174, type in your name, no password is necessary and click enter. A small applet will download on your computer and connect you to the online meeting room. If you have any questions, please contact Tom Peters at tapinformation@yahoo.com.

This story talks about the Hong Kong University Library's new service called Library@hand which provides students with periodical articles, catalog access and other library services through a wireless network to their PDAs.
